Tottenham Hotspur’s Under 21’s have just learned of their opponents in the EFL Trophy Round One Group Stage draw.
The draw was made live on talkSPORT at 12:30 this afternoon and will be in Southern Section Group A with Ipswich Town,Colchester United and Gillingham.
Last season Spurs progressed from the group stage following a win at Gillingham, draw at Crawley and close defeat at eventual-winners Portsmouth.
The run in the competition ended in the second round after a loss at Oxford.
The competition is initially split into northern and south sections with 32 teams in each section in eight groups of four. Invited clubs play regional group games away from home with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stages.
The first round of fixtures is scheduled to take place on the week commencing Monday 2 September.
Spurs are one of 16 teams invited into the competition with Liverpool and Manchester United making their first appearance in the upcoming season.
