Spurs learn who they will face in Carabao Cup third round

Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn against Colchester United in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The draw was made just minutes ago and will see Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on the League Two side at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Third round ties are to be played in the week commencing 23 September.

Tottenham’s involvement in European competition meant that they were able to skip the second round.

Last season, Tottenham made it through to the semi final of the competition before losing to Chelsea on penalties.

During their cup run, Spurs also beat Watford, West Ham and Arsenal in the previous rounds.

Fan will be hoping that the club can go one better this year and finally end the eleven year wait for silverware.

We last won the competition in 2008 when Juande Ramos’ Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final at Wembley, with Jonathan Woodgate scoring the winning goal in extra time.
