Spurs legend calls for action to be taken against Mike Dean

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has called for Mike Dean to be fined and banned from football if he verbally retaliated at Mauricio Pochettino.

The Spurs boss vented his frustration and his officials in the middle of the pitch at Turf Moor following the final whistle after witnessing his side lose 2-1 at Burnley.

According to the Daily Mirror, the following words were exchanged between the pair:

Dean said to Pochettino “what’s your problem?”

Pochettino replied “you know what”, to Dean before walking away yet abruptly turned around to confront the official once more after something was apparently said.

“What, what what? What did you say?” Pochettino said to Dean while his assistant Jesus Perez pointed at the referee.

With a Sky Sports camera close by, Pochettino asked Dean to repeat his comments so they could be heard by everyone.

Roberts took to social media to insist that something must have been said to the Spurs coaching staff for them to react out of character in the manner of which they did.
