Spurs legend hits out at Arsenal fans as new stadium advert backfires on them

Former Spurs midfielder Micky Hazard has hit back after Tottenham’s well publicised billboard which promoted the club’s new stadium was mocked by Arsenal fans.

In November, Tottenham were contacted by the Advertising Standards Authority over the advert claiming that their new stadium would be the ‘only place to watch Uefa Champions League in London’.

The advert, which ran until June this year, was reported to the ASA by an Arsenal fan and one other complainant. Tottenham were spared an investigation but have instead been served an ‘Advice Notice’ by the Authority, advising the club to avoid making claims in future advertising that they cannot fulfill.

Tottenham have now had the last laugh after the stadium finally opened its doors with the club still in the European competition and will take on Manchester City in the quarter final first leg this evening.

Hazard took to Twitter to share his thoughts and cannot wait to see Spurs return to N17 for a European tie.
