Spurs legend questions whether Poch ban is a ploy for Liverpool’s title hopes

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has reacted furiously to Mauricio Pochettino’s touchline ban.

The FA confirmed earlier today that the Spurs manager has been charged by the FA and handed a two match touchline ban and fined £10,000 for angrily confronting referee Mike Dean.

Following the 2-1 defeat at Burnley, Pochettino was involved in a heated exchange of words with the match day official after the manager was left frustrated at an incorrect decision which led to Burnley scoring their first goal.

Pochettino, 46, accepted an FA charge of improper conduct and will now serve his ban in the Premier League games against Southampton on Saturday and at Liverpool on March 31st.

Whatever was said between Dean and Pochettino is not fully known after the Argentine refused to disclose the contents of the conversation to the media.

Roberts has questioned whether the FA have banned Pochettino for the two matches that involves the trip to Anfield as a ploy to help Liverpool in their title challenge.
