West Bromwich Albion right-back Nathan Ferguson has completed a move to Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old had been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but Palace were already regarded by some in the media as frontrunners (Football.London).
Ferguson’s contract at The Hawthorns had come to an end which allowed the England Under-20 international to make the move to south London as a free agent after snubbing a new deal with the Baggies (BBC).
Tottenham currently only have one recognised senior right-back to call upon in Serge Aurier while academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters is enjoying an impressive loan spell at Southampton.
The North Londoners decided against replacing Kieran Trippier in the summer when the former Burnley player completed a £21.7million switch to Atletico Madrid (Sky Sports).
SpursWeb Opinion
It is always disappointing to miss out on promising young talent, however we already have Kyle Walker-Peters at the club and he is showing on the south coast that he is capable of playing in the Premier League.
If we are to look to recruit at right-back, it needs to be a player who will become first-choice and provide competition for Serge Aurier.
