Bryan Ruiz - Tottenham transfer target

It sounds like Tottenham Hotspur have had a lucky escape after missing out on the signature of Bryan Ruiz.

Spurs were heavily linked with a move for the former FC Twente attacking midfielder, who eventually moved to Fulham in a £10.6m deal during the last transfer window.

He admits he is struggling to cope with the pace of the Premier League having started just one game and made three further sub appearances.

Ruiz, 26, said: “I’ve not had a comfortable time so far.

“When I played in Holland I used to have an extra second to think.

“That makes a big difference. Here I am placed under greater pressure and get less time to act on the pitch.

“You also get more one-on-one situations in Dutch football. Here you get two players breathing down your neck straight away.”

  1. Saw him playing for Twente against Benfica in August in the Champs League prelim, TV focused on 'Arry waching him, sat next to Parick Kluivert & thought : "'Arry, FFS, DON'T!!!" Nowhere near good enough for Spurs.

  2. dubaispar you mention four players who are not world beaters, the point is that a team like barcelona works on its youth policy and uses players from the spanish sphere of influence , for instance messi being argentinian is like us having a scot platying for us. If we bring in fucking weasals like modric who has absolutely no bond with spurs then we are not building a club. to be honest much better jamie O'hara who really loved the shirt than finks like modric and berbatov. I remember another player we let down who loved the shirt and that was Paul Miller. He won us two fa cups when we were playing in a real fa cup. BAE is shit if you look at him closely. And if you are in dubai then you nev er go to the White Hart do you? The club needs to bring on its youth at all costs.Im sure most of the people here dont go to spurs, it seems like a collection of queeros

    • big g, i go to spurs, Im a season ticket holder. maxy miller was average at best and ohara was an arsenal reject.

Berbatov and modric are world beaters, sandro and kaboul are young and will become world beaters.

Because a spurs fan lives in dubai and cant visit the ground, doesent make him any less of a yid than you.

  3. Yeah those foreigners are shite arent they …Villa…Ardiles…Klinsman…Ginola..absolute no hopers. Anyway congrats… its the first time I've read one of your posts where you've managed to avoid using the words c*nt
    or wanker.
    Regards,
    Queero

  4. I was disappointed that Spurs didn't buy Ruiz, but I am certain that he will turn out to be a great buy for Fulham. Marin Jol knows Dutch football and exactly what Ruiz can do, and I am sure wouldn' t have bought him otherwise.
Some players take slightly longer to adjust to the pace and style of the EPL and 7 games doesn't make him a bad player. In todays money £10.6m is hardly a massive amount to pay for what who I believe is a quality player.
