Niko Kranjcar insists that Tottenham need to work harder against teams who set out to defend.

The Croatian pinpointed the defeat against Wolves as an example where Spurs failed to impress.

After Wednesday night’s impressive win against Manchester City, the focus now shifts to Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.

“From the first day of the season, we believed we have a squad and talented players that can achieve a big goal this season,” he said. “Hopefully we can.”

He added: “In the games where we have a lot of room, we’re going to show our qualities and prove we have a team and a squad better than most.

“Against teams like Wolves, who are hard to break down, we have to work on creating more chances and moving the ball even more quickly.”

  1. Against wolves on saturday i suppose movement or lack off is one thing we lacked but i think no plan “b” was the problem + the consistantcy of winning becoming a habit. Over recent years i have seen Spurs beat Arsenal & Chelsea 5-1 smash wigan 5-1 beat chelsea in a domestic final and then the downsides lose 5-3 to man utd after being 3 nil up at halftime, lose 4-3 man city after being 3 nil up at halftime, lose to stoke & wolves at home while having 70%+ pocession on both occasions. I would say its easier to win the national lottery than predict how spurs will do in there next game. For example does anyone really know based upon any factors you like how spurs will get on saturday against Blackburn, i guess it depends which spurs team turn up !

  2. Crouch offers us a perfect foil for defoe when we play without fear. we utilise his ability to mix it up with balls played on the floor and in the air. he offers us the sort of partnership with defoe that heskey does for rooney only with more goals and better quality all round play. defoe has always had the ability to be 1 of the best strikers to play in a spurs shirt but has always needed a partner prepared to play the provider and play this role for the best of the team without fuss. Problem with spurs is when we feel the pressure i.e knowing we should beat wolves but a goal down we resort to route one football purely because of the size of crouch and that goes against the way we play football and despite his height, this style of football doesnt play to crouchs strengths. need to believe that if we play our style of football for 90 mins against any opposition we will get the break through.
