Spurs midfielder dislocates his elbow in training

It would be fair to say that Josh Onomah is having a season to forget.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan and has struggled to hold down a regular first team place in the Owls side after suffering injury after injury.

Onomah spent last season on loan at fellow Championship side Aston Villa under Steve Bruce, who now is ironically the boss at Wednesday.

After recently returning from a hamstring injury which saw him head back to Hotspur Way to receive treatment, Onomah dislocated his elbow in training this week.

He was rushed to hospital after suffering the injury and it will be decided this week whether or not the England Under-21 international will require surgery.

Onomah has only featured once in 2019, and that was in Bruce’s first match in charge against Ipswich Town where he picked up the hamstring injury.

While the midfielder’s aim was to get regular first-team football with the ambition of returning to Spurs to challenge for a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, he has seen the likes of Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp jump head of him in the pecking order.
