Gylfi Sigurdsson admits that his goal against West Ham United has made him feel “ten stone lighter”.
The midfielder scored our second goal in the 3-2 win at Upton Park, which was his first goal for Spurs in the Premier League. Sigurdsson admits that his start to Spurs life has been tough after not being a regular in AVB’s side, but is hoping to use his goal as confidence to push on and show what he can do.
“After getting the first league goal, I felt about 10 stone lighter than I did before. It is why I came to a club like Tottenham, to play games like the one at West Ham and win them in the last minute,” he told the press.
“I am enjoying it, even though it has been quite tough, especially with me not scoring in the league.
“Hopefully that goal will give me a bit of confidence and luck and I can keep going.”
