Spurs player tipped for exit signs new deal

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have extended the contract of goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

I must admit that I am surprised that the club have decided to offer the 34-year-old a new one-year deal to remain at the club when we already have Paulo Gazzaniga as third choice and at 26, represents a potential long-term successor to Hugo Lloris.

Many had expected Vorm to leave the club this summer and was heavily linked with a move back to his native Holland, however, it now appears that he will probably be in goal for next season’s FA Cup matches, with Pochettino opting to play the former Swansea keeper rather than Lloris or Gazzaniga.

A statement on the club’s official Twitter account read: “The Club can confirm that we have activated the option to extend ’s contract until 2019.”
