Spurs playmaker tipped to follow Dele in signing new deal

Christian Eriksen is reported to be set to follow in the footsteps of Dele Alli by signing a new contract extension at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dane’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2020 and according to the Evening Standard, Tottenham are hopeful that he will be next to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Eriksen, 26, has been heavily linked with potential moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona but is expected to pledge his future to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The report claims that the former Ajax playmaker, who currently earns around £70,000 a week would more than double his salary on a long-term deal.

Harry Kane is Tottenham’s top earner and takes home around £200,000 a week, while Dele’s new deal is said to be worth £150,000 a week.

Eriksen’s potential new contract would see him become one of the club’s top earners and would represent a huge boost to keep him at the club.
