Tottenham Hotspur central defender Jan Vertonghen is expected to be out of action for up to two months with a hamstring injury.
According to the Daily Mirror, the club are fearful that the Belgian international will be sidelined for an extended period.
Vertonghen sustained the injury during the first half of the Premier League victory at Huddersfield Town and despite feeling the problem, he played on until half time before being replaced by Harry Winks.
The 31-year-old is set to miss the remainder of Tottenham’s Champions League group stage matches which includes:
PSV (away) – 24th October
PSV (home) – 6th November
Inter Milan (home) – 28th November
Barcelona (away) – 11th December
Thankfully we are now approaching the international break where Vertonghen will have time to recouperate and will miss his country’s matches against Switzerland and the Netherlands.
