Spurs set to be without the services of in-form star

Tottenham Hotspur are set to be without Heung-min Son for a large chunk of matches in January.

Son has been called up by South Korea to participate in his country’s involvement in the AFC Asian Cup.

The tournament takes place in United Arab Emirates and will feature 24 countries from across Asia and will take place from January 5 until February 1.

The player will join up with his international team-mates following Tottenham’s Premier League match against Manchester United at Wembley on January 13th, he will arrive in time for their fixture against China.

South Korea find themselves in Group B along with China, Philippines and Kyrgyzstan and are tipped to top the group.

Should South Korea progress in the tournament, it would mean he would be missing for the Premier League fixtures against Watford and Newcastle, as well as the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The forward has been in fine form for Spurs in recent weeks and his absence will come as a huge blow.
