Spurs set to receive injury boost ahead of trip to Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur supporters will be demanding a vastly improved performance from the players and management in Sunday’s North London derby.

Spurs go into the fixture at the Etihad on the back of a diabolic display against Newcastle United at the new stadium; which at present is certainly not the fortress that White Hart Lane was under Mauricio Pochettino.

They lacked serious creativity against the Magpies which did not help matters when Pochettino decided to bench Christian Eriksen.

With Dele Alli having missed the opening three matches with a hamstring injury, another of Pochettino’s creative forces has been unable to influence matters.

However, The Telegraph report that Dele is now in contention to face Arsenal after a period of rehabilitation.

Pochettino has taken the cautious approach to Dele’s hamstring issues, deciding against risking him against Newcastle despite returning to first team training last week.

The Spurs manager has previously expressed his concern about the England international’s track record of hamstring issues (Guardian).
