No Spurs Sissoko bid

Spurs have not made an offer for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, which could prompt Liverpool to move for the 25-year-old France international.

The reports began when French website Foot Mercado suggested that Spurs were ready to make a move for the Toon midfielder, but in a contrast of opinion the Evening Standard claim that there has been no approach from Mauricio Pochettino and co.

Sissoko has already claimed he wants to play European football as he seeks to secure a place in France’s Euro 2016 squad.

He said: “Didier Deschamps says he will only select players who are regulars for their club.

“With a year until the Euros, I shouldn’t change club and risk ended up on the bench. But at the same time I want to play for one of the biggest clubs.

“I want to play in the Champions League, which we don’t have at Newcastle.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I just can't see Levy & co bringing in any MF players this transfer window other than perhaps a defensive MF player to replace those moved on, as I believe he's going to let Poch bring in Carroll, Pritchard & possibly Ali.
IMHOI I can probably only see us signing maybe one or possibly two strikers & a defensive MF player.
