Spurs striker goes out on loan

Yeovil have signed striker Shayon Harrison from Premier League side Tottenham on loan.

The 19-year-old will become the Glovers’ fourth signing of the January transfer window pending the Premier League’s approval and will stay at Huish Park until the end of the season.

Harrison has been prolific for Spurs’ Under-21 side and made his professional debut for the club in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup in October last year.

Manager Darren Way spoke of his delight on the deal, stating on the club’s official website: “We played against Spurs in pre-season and Shayon played very well and caught the eye. He’s been very close to the first team and is someone (Spurs boss Mauricio) Pochettino rates very highly.

“We know Tottenham have an unbelievable desire and work ethic, which are massive attributes needed to play for Yeovil Town.

“Shayon will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ryan Mason, Steven Caulker and Andros Townsend, so we look forward to continuing the relationship with Spurs.”
