Spurs suffer blow with Sandro injury update

Our worst fears have been confirmed after Sandro was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The tough tackling Tottenham midfielder suffered a knee injury in the draw against QPR last Saturday and had to be replaced halfway through the first half by Scott Parker.

After Parker missed the first half of the season, Sandro really did step up and became one of our most consistent performers with AVB having selected the Brazilian 27 times this season. He underwent surgery earlier this week and will now miss our challenge for a Champions League place.

A short statement on the Tottenham website read: “Following consultation with the knee surgeon, the club can report that Sandro is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season after surgery on his right knee.

“The Brazil international was forced off during Saturday’s game against Queens Park Rangers after injuring both his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus.”
