Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero hopes that the club do not stand in his way of a transfer.
The 22-year-old was the subject of a failed bid by Spurs during the end of the January transfer window and it remains to be seen if Spurs will once again move for the player.
He told reporters in Spain: “I have made my decision and the club should respect that.
“They knew that I was going to release a statement on my official website to announce my desire to leave.
“I think that I have said everything that I needed to say in that statement.
“I already told the directors when I renewed my contract that I would announce my wish to leave whenever I felt the time was right.
“I opted to wait with the announcement until the end of the league campaign. The only thing I want to say about it is that Atletico knew I would make the statement.”
