Spurs to lose midfield maestro in January?

Tottenham Hotspur managed to hold onto Mousa Dembele after the closure of the summer transfer window. However, he could be set to leave the club in January.

The Sun are reporting that the 31-year-old could be on his way to Chinese Super League side Beijing Sinobo Guoan on a three-year deal worth £192,000-a-week.

Dembele has just 10 months left to run on his existing deal at Spurs and can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.

The Belgian has yet to agree to a new contract and the club could be forced to try and recoup some money by offloading in in the New Year. The Chinese club tried to sign the midfielder during the summer, but a deal could not be reached with Tottenham.

One potential stumbling block is that Spurs would want him to stay until next summer, however, the Chinese league starts in February and theys would want him ready for kick-off.
