Spurs to recruit Kane back-up in January?

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Fiorentina forward Giovanni Simeone in the January window.

According to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, Tottenham are looking to recruit a back up for Harry Kane.

Spurs have struggled to find someone who can help Kane with the goal scoring burden in recent seasons. Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have all tried and failed to put the ball in the net.

Giovanni is the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, who are also said to be keen on the 23-year-old. However, he won’t come cheap as he is valued at around £36million by the Serie A side.

Tottenham have not typically spent big money during the winter transfer window due to inflated transfer fees which occur during mid season. Our most recent winter recruit Lucas Moura took six months to show what a savvy addition he has been to the Spurs squad for what looks to be a bargain at £25million.
