Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost with the news that Erik Lamela is back in full training with the first team following injury.
The winger picked up a thigh strain during Tottenham’s involvement in the International Champions Cup tournament in the USA, which saw him miss the pre-season fixtures against AC Milan, Girona along with the Premier League opener at Newcastle United last weekend.
He took to Instagram to post an update on his fitness.
We all know that Lamela has suffered more than his fair share of injuries since his move from AS Roma, a problematic hip injury kept him sidelined for over a year which led to the 26-year-old fearing for his career.
Mauricio Pochettino instilled his faith in his compatriot by giving him a new four-year contract last month which will keep him contracted at the club until 2022.
Hopefully Lamela can start to show on a consistent basis why we shelled out at the time in 2013 a club record fee of £25.8million.
Whether Lamela will be fit enough to be considered in the squad to face Fulham on Saturday will be decided towards the end of the week.
