Stadium snub for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur will have to continue searching for an alternative venue for their Premier League match against Manchester City after Twickenham was ruled out of the equation.

Spurs officials have been left looking for potential venue options due to the fact that Wembley Stadium will host an NFL match on Sunday 28th October, the same day which Mauricio Pochettino’s side are scheduled to take on the Premier League champions in a match which Sky selected for live television coverage.

RFU chiefs have ruled out the prospect of football being played at Twickenham, which is the home of English rugby who instead are focused on hosting their core sport, along with the NFL.

Man City are said to have rejected an approach from Spurs to reverse the fixture as it would result in City having to play three away games during the month of April.

It appears as if the search will have to continue for Spurs in order to find somewhere to play their Premier League fixture.
