Steffen Freund on Spurs 3-0 Coventry

Steffen Freund was pleased after Spurs avoided a potential banana skin in the third round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win against Coventry City at White Hart Lane.

A brace from Clint Dempsey with one from Gareth Bale in between during an impressive first-half display proved enough to book our place in the draw for the fourth round on Sunday.

AVB ringed the changes with starts for the likes of Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Brad Friedel.

Freund told the official Spurs Twitter page after the match: “We needed the right attitude today and we did have. We pressured them, created chances and were very professional today”

“They had nothing to lose and we kept a clean sheet which was great to see too”

“Great to see Benoit back. He played really well, strong on the ball and put in great performance after 4 months out”

“Scott (Parker) worked so hard, really proud of him and his performance. A very positive performance all round”
