Steven Bergwijn wasted no time in taking to social media after Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 win against current Premier League champions Manchester City.
Bergwijn, a £25million arrival from PSV Eindhoven earlier this week, made himself an immediate fan favourite after scoring on his debut with a stunning volley in front of the single tier south stand (Express).
It marked a dream debut for the Dutch winger, who pulled up with cramp in the second half, but who was given a hero’s ovation when he was taken off after 70 minutes.
Son Heung-Min made sure of victory when his 18-yard effort was deflected past Ederson by Fernandinho on 71 minutes
The victory takes Spurs up to fifth place in the table and are now just four points behind fourth place Chelsea, who could only draw at Leicester yesterday.
The winger posted two photos on his Instagram account to recap an afternoon which will certainly live long in his memory.
