Striker linked with Spurs plays down reports of leaving current club

Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi has admitted rumours of transfer bids for his services has made him happy but is currently not thinking of a transfer away from the Turkish giants.

Muriqi only joined Fenerbahce last year, but has caught the eye after netting 15 times in 28 appearances in all competitions during the current campaign (transfermarkt).

A Spor claimed that Tottenham had submitted a bid of £4.5 million bid to land the Kosovan international.

The 26-year-old insists that his mind is fully focused on the job at hand with Fenerbahce and is looking to guide the club to silverware by lifting the Turkey Cup.

Tottenham struggled to put the ball in the back of the net earlier this year when both Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were sidelined with lengthy injuries which certainly identified the need to bolster the club’s attacking options.

Turkish publication Aspor have claimed that Lazio and Napoli are also interested in the hitman.

He told Fanatik: “My name is remembered with a team every day. The incoming offers make me happy. However, a transfer is not on my agenda. The Super League results are our biggest disappointment. We want to win the Turkey Cup. I think only this. I have not served this team as much as I want yet,”
