North London derbies are always a tight affair and to give Arsenal the upper hand is absolute madness.
Up step Jan Vertonghen with a moment of stupidity to handle the ball in his own penalty area which meant that referee Mike Dean had to award a penalty.
The Belgian has recently returned following two months out with a hamstring injury and certainly looks a few yards off the pace at the Emirates this afternoon.
Some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration at the defender for his decision to put his arm above his head in his own penalty area of which Arsenal capitalised to take a 1-0 lead.
The decision to start Toby Alderweireld also has not gone down well with the majority of supporters, with Pochettino instead deciding to start with Vertonghen and Juan Foyth in the heart of defence.
Arsenal have certainly looked the better side in the first half.
SUB OFF VERTONGHEN NOW!

Need to put Toby Alderweireld on to try and steady the ship here. Juan Foyth and Jan Vertonghen are just completely out of sync here. ? #ARSTOT

Aurier having a harebrained day. Dier again proving too slow a passer for the big games. Vertonghen with one crazy moment. Sigh

Aurier is dead, Foyth like a rabbit in headlights, Vertonghen too casual, no urgency in this team
