Sunday morning stroll – How one former Spurs player described the Cardiff win

Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win against Premier League newcomers Cardiff City yesterday evening to silence the doubters following the blip against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Former Spurs midfielder Micky Hazard labelled the victory in Wales as a Sunday morning stroll against Neil Warnock’s bluebirds.

A stroll was certainly the right word to use as Mauricio Pochettino’s men climbed back up to second spot in the table.

Cardiff had barely had time to set out to try and frustrate Spurs when Harry Kane somewhat fortuitously bundled the ball home after three minutes.

Before the half was even over, Christian Eriksen and Heung-min Son had also found the back of the net to put the match well and truly to bed.

The victory was a step in the right direction to silence the critics who have been so vocal since Tottenham’s disappointing second half display during the 3-1 defeat to Wolves on Saturday.

Hazard was pleased to see the players bounce back.
