Team News: Spurs confirm three players will miss Manchester City tie

Tottenham Hotspur have provided a team news update ahead of tomorrow’s all-English Champions League quarter final first leg against Manchester City.

Spurs go into the match at their brand new 62,062 capacity seater stadium knowing that they need to keep free-scoring City under control, especially with away goals playing their part in the competition.

The club have confirmed that midfielders Eric Dier and Erik Lamela both miss the first leg due to injury. The pair trained separately to the rest of the Spurs squad at this morning’s training session at Hotspur Way as they continue their rehabilitation.

Right-back Serge Aurier also misses out, he has missed the last two matches with a hamstring injury sustained on international duty with the Ivory Coast and has recently suffered the loss of his father.

Meanwhile, Fernando Llorente has returned to training following a concussion.

City are still on course for a quadruple after booking their place in the FA Cup final at the weekend, where they will face Watford.

The club confirmed the news on their Twitter page.
