Team News: Three players ruled out for the visit of Sheffield United

An injury update has been provided to journalists attending a press conference at Hotspur Way ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match against Sheffield United.

The Blades are the visitors to North London having lost just one away league game in 2019 (W6 D9 L1) – no team in the top-four tiers of English football have lost fewer (also Liverpool on one).

Long-term absentee Hugo Lloris will miss the rest of the year with the club confirming yesterday that he has now undergone surgery on his left elbow.

Danny Rose returns after he missed the trip to Everton on Sunday after serving a one match suspension.

Fellow defender Jan Vertonghen is still sidelined with a hamstring problem and is not expected to return until after the international break after also being omitted from the Belgian side.

Erik Lamela has missed the last three matches with a hamstring issue and will once again be absent tomorrow afternoon.

PA’s Jonathan Veal, tweeted the following:-

Tottenham confirmed the news via their official channel minutes later whilst elaborating that Lamela and Vetonghen are continuing their rehabilitation outdoors.
