The team Spurs should pick to beat Huddersfield

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2018 when Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town visit Wembley this afternoon.

We have already enjoyed a comfortable victory over the Terriers earlier in the season, which included a hat-trick for Harry Kane.

Nothing less than three points will do for us as we continue to push for yet another campaign in the Champions League for next season.

Turning attention to team news, only Toby Alderweireld is sidelined with a minor hamstring issue, while Jan Vertonghen is back after taking a knock in training.

This is the side we would like to see start the match.  What do you think?  We’d love to hear your thoughts by leaving your comments, below.

Lloris

Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies

Dembele Dier

Dele Eriksen Son

Kane

  1. We really need to rest our better players when possible and put some second string ones in, like Lamela. This should be an ideal game for him. Play Llorente again. Rest Son and Kane. I am tempted to suggest Lucas, but really want him to be available for Juventus, which leaves Sissoko to play, instead of, say, Eriksen or Dele.

You don’t want Lamela anywhere near Juventus. He will get sent off after having lost the ball to give away a goal. Play him today. He does ok against lower level opposition.

    • Brian are you an arsenal fan play a second string are you mad Poch dose this in cup games and they have not been to great the club needs C/L next season so no way do we start pissing about in P/L games we need to win as many as possible to stay 4th Juventus is for another day

      • Anyone who has a different view to you is mad? Dangerous territory. If Lamela and co cannot beat Huddersfield we are in deep muck. I did not suggest we put out a complete second string. I suggested we could rest some of our players. Unfortunately simply stating Juventus is for another day is not very far sighted and not a strategic approach. The team has to be balanced across a number of games, not just selected for a single game. It is clear Poch is taking this approach. I am sure there will be some tweaks today. Mainly the first team, but possibly Lamela and Sissoko starting.
