Over the years there have been some shocking kits sported by Tottenham players and fans alike. Looking back on some of the contenders really does make us think ‘why on earth did I buy that kit?’.

The 1990’s has a lot to answer for, in a decade which saw some of the most laughable football kits ever created.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. WHAT A STUPID ARTICLE. Apart from 1900's kit the rest a mind. And were fashionable in there, most fashionable spurs fans would wear one of these the lane now.

also, obv you are fat – as the first home kit was fine.

  2. Yellow away kit by umbro was the first spurs kit I ever owned. My dad bought it for me at the first game I ever went to see. Last home game of the season 1993-94 I think, against Southampton and I think we had to win to confirm survival (but it was a long time ago). We went on to win, I saw Teddy Sheringham less than 10 feet away from me as he asked for the ball back quickly from the crowd for a throw in.
And for that reason alone I have an emotional attachment to it and can forgive any and all of its fashion crimes!

  3. I hate last seasons home shirt, button collar should not be on a football shirt. V or round neck and definitely not even a hint of red on the next one please.

  4. obviously the red one sucks. the 2 umbro ones , the yellow one and the light blue one, were pretty bad. i think the light blue one is largely responsible for the 'SPUDS' nickname. but the kappa one and the purple pony one were both great shirts. most of the kappa stuff was nice, and the pony ones were generally pretty good too. the other purple one they did was nice.
i would have put the admiral nylon attrocity form the 70's on this list – floppy collars etc.
