The team Spurs should pick to beat Swansea City

Tottenham Hotspur are back in FA Cup action tomorrow when we travel to Wales to take on Swansea City on the quarter-final of the competition.

After the disappointment of our Champions League exit, the FA Cup is our last hope of winning some silverware this season.  Swansea have found a new lease of life under boss Carlos Carvahal, however we have tasted success at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League earlier in the season.

Turning attentions to team news, we all know that Harry Kane is sidelined with an ankle injury.  On the positive, Toby Alderweireld is expected to be named in the squad after his hamstring issues.

If you were Tottenham boss, what would your starting line up be for the match against the Swans?  Here’s the side which we would like to see start.

Lloris (C)

Trippier Vertonghen Sanchez Davies

Dembele Wanyama

Lucas Eriksen Lamela

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. There are two issues here. The team to start tomorrow and who should be played after that if we progress.

For tomorrow, I disagree with some of your selections.

    Lloris (C) – no, Vorm

Trippier Vertonghen Sanchez Davies – I think it maybe Walker-Peters in place of Davies (injury I think)

    Dembele Wanyama – agreed

Lucas Eriksen Lamela – yes – Lamela should be just about good enough to play against Swansea

Son – no, the guy is in hot form but is key – needs to sit this one out. About time Sterling had a shot, but if not, play Dele or Llorente.

  2. Brian,

You must be kidding! What a funny joke.

Drop Son. Why ? Give me a reason ?
International Break coming up. Why rest our best player.

Agree with the author. We gotta go strong or else we’ll see another Newport.
