Brad Friedel was an eyebrow raising signing for Tottenham back in 2011, as the 40-year-old veteran signed a two-year deal in North London.

As a club famed for thriving under the faith in young and exciting players, the acquisition of the experienced American seemed strange, especially when he walked into the team as the first-choice keeper.

However, Brad Friedel went on to prove everyone wrong, as he spent three long seasons at the club, racking up 67 appearances in a Tottenham shirt.

In 2012, Friedel became the oldest player to ever play a competitive match for Tottenham, at 41-years of age.

Friedel also still holds the record for the most consecutive appearances, with 310, a feat achieved over spells at Blackburn, Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Despite his record-breaking age, Friedel was able to show off the reflexes of a cat between the sticks for Spurs, and never looked out of place for a second.

He was a brick wall in goal for thee great seasons, pulling off some outrageous saves in his time before eventually retiring in 2015.
