Crouchy often finds it hard to be taken seriously in the footballing world. With his lanky appearance and spindly legs, everything about the man screams ‘not a footballer’.

However, Crouch’s goalscoring record over a long career speaks for itself, as he recently joined the elite and elusive 100 Premier League goals club.

Crouch originally signed for Spurs back in 1998, having come through the youth system, however, a young Peter never managed to appear in a Spurs shirt.

Fast forward to 2009, and Tottenham re-signed Crouch for £10m from Portsmouth.

The England man played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s quarter-final dream Champions League run, scoring goals against Inter Milan and AC Milan as Spurs progressed beyond the odds through the tournament.

The lanky centre-forward even scored the key goal against Manchester City the season before, which cemented Tottenham’s 4th place finish, and Champions League place.

Crouch struck up an instant partnership with former Portsmouth teammate Jermain Defoe, and fan favourite Rafa Van Der Vaart in what were some of the best years in Tottenham’s history.

After three seasons at Spurs, Crouch clocked up 93 appearances and 24 goals before moving to Stoke City in 2011.
