The two Spurs players included in the Golden Boy shortlist

Two Tottenham Hotspur players have been nominated for the Golden Boy award 2019, which is given to the best Under-21 football player in Europe by Tuttosport.

Oliver Skipp and Tashan Oakley-Boothe are the two players from the North London club who have made the 100 strong shortlist where previous winners of the prestigious award have included Matthijs de Ligt, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and former Spur Rafael van der Vaart, who was the inaugural award winner.

While Oakley-Boothe is yet to make his fist team debut, he did impress for the club’s Under-23 side and will be hoping to make the step up next season following in the footsteps of Skipp.

The young midfielder played twelve games in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last season.

The pair are certainly up against some tough competition, the 100 will be whittled down following a fan vote with the list containing the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho.
