The word which Gary Lineker used to describe Tottenham’s new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have certainly kept their fans on the edge of their seats over the past week.

A nervy end to last Wednesday’s Champions League quarter final second leg at Manchester City which saw them book their place in the final four following a VAR review was followed by last night’s tense encounter against Brighton at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Brighton, managed by former Spur Chris Hughton came to North London to try and frustrate their hosts with some heroic defending and getting bodies behind the ball when Mauricio Pochettino’s side were in possession.

Their aim of trying to leave N17 with a point that would have been hugely significant in their battle against relegation from the top flight almost paid off until Christian Eriksen powered home a beautiful left-footed effort from outside of the penalty area.

Gary Lineker took to Twitter to acknowledge the fact that Spurs have maintained their 100% start to life at the new stadium with four wins out of four, nine goals scored and none conceded which saw the Match of the Day host describe the venue as a fortress.
