Tottenham Hotspur released an injury update yesterday as part of the press conference protocol for every Premier League match.

Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to express their surprise at how few players are currently sidelined with an injury.

Ahead of the match against Liverpool on Sunday, only Hugo Lloris unavailable for selection after dislocating his elbow in the 3-0 defeat to Brighton earlier this month.

Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso both returned to first team training last week with the Argentinean handed a brief cameo in the 5-0 win against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday night.

Spurs have had their injury problems this season, notably ahead of the North London derby against Arsenal where a number of players were ruled out including Kyle Walker-Peters, Juan Foyth, Eric Dier and Tanguy Ndombele.

With games set to come thick and fast over the next few months, it is certainly encouraging to see Hotspur Way treatment room looking so empty.

Here is how some Spurs fans have reacted on social media.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. So please lets not tinker with the side from Tuesday. Much quicker and better going forward probably because Vinny Samwinks was kept out of it and Ndombele was allowed to play. Same again please.
