Tottenham confirm first-team player has signed new long-term deal

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that Eric Dier has signed a new deal at the club which will run until 2024.

The England international’s current contract was set to expire at the end of next season but has now committed his future to the Champions League finalists.

Since the resumption of the Premier League campaign, Dier has found himself a regular at the heart of the Spurs defence before being handed a four-game ban by the FA after he confronted a supporter in the west stand following the FA Cup defeat to Norwich back in March.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho had previously hinted that the 26-year-old would be handed a new deal after being informed by Daniel Levy that Dier was happy to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (BBC).

Dier joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 for £4million and has gone on to play 239 games for the club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals (transfermarkt).
