Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media to voice their frustration at the embarrassing FA Cup draw to League Two outfit Newport County.

For the majority of the match, it would have you to believe that Newport were the Premier League side and Tottenham were from the lower leagues, yes the pitch didn’t help, but that ‘performance’ was diabolical.

It took Harry Kane to once again rescue Tottenham’s blushes with an 82nd minute tap-in, following a Heung-min Son flick at the near post. The goal was Kane’s 30th in all competitions this season.

Unless we win the Premier League or the Champions League, and I’m sure even the most optimistic Spurs fan knows neither of those trophies will be in the cabinet of our new stadium, the FA Cup is our best hope to avoid another trophy-less season, but first of all we need to see off Newport in the replay at Wembley.

Here is a selection of Tweets of what your fellow Spurs fans had to say about our FA Cup draw. Got something to say about the match?   Leave your thoughts via the comments section at the bottom of the page.

  1. Always the negative fans are the most vocal, is it really so hard to take the positives from a loss. Yes we were poor in the first half, but the second half was markedly improve. Not to mention and excellent showing from Foyth, who’s had very few chances so far this season. Sissoko also deserves mention, and not the popular ‘he’s shit’ narrative. Yes he’s had a less than impressive season, but he certainly did himself justice today.
Today’s performance may not have been good, but it’s not all doom and gloom.

  2. Josh this is Newport we are talking about not Man city that performance was crap thank God for Kane;s goal with mins to go we would be the laughing stock of the P/L if our players really want to win some silverware then they must show some balls every season we chuck our cup games away by not playing our best team this is the only cup we really have a chance of winning forget the C/L that is fantasy

  3. That was a pathetic first half performance and we can’t start making excuses when playing teams like Newport. Fair play to them, they did well, but we were poor – probably the worst i have seen this season. I would have liked to see Lamela start, and possibly Kaz Sterling or Georgiou. The impact of the big players would have probably been better off the bench. February is looking like a tough month but it will be ok if we get one or two players in.
