Tottenham leave trio at home ahead of Qarabag

Tottenham left Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker at home as they embarked on the 11-hour round trip to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag in the Europa League.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino rested the trio with Sunday’s Barclays Premier League clash with Chelsea in mind, while he is also without Erik Lamela (groin), Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli and Alex Pritchard (all ankle) through injury.

But in-form striker Harry Kane travelled to Baku along with England new boy Dele Alli, who is set to start as he is suspended at the weekend. Spurs will seal their qualification into the knock-out stages with a victory.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, McGee, Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Vertonghen, Fazio, Davies, Carter-Vickers, Winks, Dier, Mason, Carroll, Alli, Townsend, Eriksen, Onomah, Son Heung-min, Njie, Kane, Harrison.
