Harry Kane kept Tottenham in touch at the top of the Premier League table by scoring a second-half penalty to seal a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Spurs were dominant throughout at White Hart Lane but they struggled to break down a resilient Boro side until Kane converted his spot-kick after the excellent Son Heung-min was fouled by Espinosa Bernardo.

Victor Valdes was also fortunate not to be sent off early on after he pushed Dele Alli in the face.

Tottenham’s win means they reduce the gap behind Chelsea back to nine points while Middlesbrough stay 15th, one point above the relegation zone.

  1. LLoris -7 Came out well a few times but his kicking was poor again, and his punch at the end not firm enough.

Dier – 6 Did not make any glaring errors but his distribution from the back was overall poor.

Walker -7.5 Made himself available as always and kept them back. He was not as adventurous as he has been lately but most of the play seemed to be going down the left through Son. Also knowing Eriksen offers him no support defensively, keeps him Deeper.

Aldeweireld – 8. a few stray passes but overall another solid game.

Davies- 5.5 to some this may appear harsh but for all of his effort which was great he gave the ball away far too often. I wish him well and hope he can cover for Danny for a stretch but the pundits suggested today there was not much difference between them. That is ridiculous. Rose is miles better,..miles.

Dembele- 8 Moose was steady all day and again, and won the ball of the Boro players on a number of occassions. He kept feeding Son and eventually we were rewarded.

Wanyama- 7.8 Just another good all around display.

Eriksen- 4.5 Had a couple of shots on target after he was well set up but could not take advantage. Failed to shoot when he was all alone. Made two nice passes in the game. The rest of his display was typical Eriksen. Tapping it back wards or loosing it if he tried to hold onto the ball. Corners were ineffective as were free kicks. We need a better player in his role if we want to progress.

DELE- 7.5 Worked hard and created things.

Son- 8 Always looked to attack good game

Kane- 5.5 Apart from the penalty he did very little again and seems to have lost his tenacity and work ethic

  2. I really think that Spurs made mistakes selling the likes of Gylfi Sigurosson, Nicer Chadle, both aren't scarred to have a shot out side the box, Jermain Defoe still scoring goals
We all know why They did not sign Saido Berahino Drug problem, But why did they let Moussa Dumbell go to Cultic centre forward coming on as a sub and scoring goals, it is beyond me
