Tottenham players react to record-breaker Harry Kane

26th December 2017, remember the date.  This was the day which Harry Kane smashed Alan Shearer’s Premier League record.

The Tottenham striker started the day one goal behind Shearer’s record of 36 Premier League goals in a calendar year, which he achieved with Blackburn Rovers in 1995.

The Spurs striker netted a hat-trick in the 5-2 demolition of Southampton at Wembley to take his tally for 2017 in the league to an impressive 39.  He has also scored more times this year than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Harry Kane and his Spurs team mates were quick to take to Twitter to celebrate the feat of “one of our own”. Here is what they’ve had to say:-

  1. Your article has a mistake in the first paragraph. Kane started on 36 goals before the game started and not a goal behind unless you meant he was a goal behind Messi instead of Shearer.
