Tottenham target expressed his desire to move

Tottenham transfer target Malcom has revealed that he wanted to leave Bordeaux during the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Spurs and north London rivals Arsenal, last month, but remained with the French club.

Bordeaux are managed by former Spurs midfielder Gus Poyet and had previously insisted that the Brazilian would not be moving anywhere before the end of the current season.

Tottenham instead moved for PSG winger Lucas Moura in a £23million deal before the window closed.

“It’s my dream to progress in my career,” he told Telefoot.

“I spoke to the president, he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.

“I told him he could count on me until the end of the season, I will do everything to help Bordeaux finish in the top six in Ligue 1.”

Malcom has scored 7 goals in 19 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
