Tottenham’s Champions League debutant reveals he has undergone surgery

Tottenham Hotspur were unable to repeat last season’s memorable campaign in European football.

After making it to the final of the Champions League during the previous campaign against all odds, fans had to witness their side bow out of the competition at the hands of RB Leipzig just days before the season ground to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat in North London in the first leg, Jose Mourinho took an injury hit side to Germany unable to call upon the services of the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Davinson Sanchez and Moussa Sissoko.

Despite being on the end of a comfortable 3-0 loss at the Red Bull Arena, it did give Mourinho the opportunity to hand one of the club’s academy products his debut.

During the final few minute of the match, the Portuguese head coach decided to throw on Malachi Fagan-Walcott in place of Serge Aurier shortly after Emil Forsberg had made it 3-0.

Fagan-Walcott took to Twitter last night to reveal he had undergone an unspecified successful operation and is now focusing on his rehabilitation.
