Tottenham’s injury concerns begin to mount ahead of Liverpool match

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury concerns are mounting once more after Serge Aurier was the latest player to pick up a problem.

The right-back managed to last only thirty minutes of the Ivory Coast’s African Cup of Nations victory against Rwanda yesterday and had to be replaced by Metz midfielder Victorien Angban.

There are fears that Aurier has picked up a hamstring injury which would make him a serious doubt for Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield a week on Sunday.

Aurier has played just 17 games for Spurs this season with Kieran Trippier suffering a lack of form this season, the right back berth is certainly one which is up for grabs.

If it is indeed confirmed that Aurier will miss the match, Trippier will likely start against the Reds with Kyle Walker-Peters providing cover from the bench.

Spurs midfielder Eric Dier was forced off during England’s 4-0 win against the Czech Republic on Friday night with a muscular injury and has returned to Hotspur Way for treatment.
