Tottenham’s top 5 players over the last 10 years

In the last decade, Tottenham Hotspur have gone from strength to strength in the Premier League, and are now without a doubt one of the biggest clubs in the division.

A first top four finish, a first taste of Champions League, a first quarter-final in that prestigious tournament, so many leaps and bounds have been made by the latest crops of Lilywhites, especially under current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

But who are the best players to have graced the White Hart Lane pitch over the last ten years? Here are our top five.

Luka Modric

The little Croatian magician, Luka Modric. Words can't describe the talent of this man.
Luka joined Spurs from Dynamo Zagreb in 2008, signing a 6 year contract for a fee of £16.5m.
He would go on to nail down the central-midfield position in North London for the next four seasons, racking up over 150 appearances and 17 goals.
The gliding creator's style of play is unique, unlike that of any other player in the world really. Despite being slight in build, Modric is able to shrug off and duck under challenges, always squirming away from his man, and seemingly unable to give the ball away.
His reading of the game is exceptional, and Luka always seemed to be able to find the killer ball, or the decisive pocket of space when others found it impossible.
It seemed only natural that European giants Real Madrid would also come knocking for Modric's services in 2012.
Modric would go on to win four Champions League titles, a La Liga title, and the Player of the Tournament award at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. What a player.
