Transfer guru who describes Mourinho as his ‘brother’ ready to leave current club

Luis Campos is reported to have asked Lille owner Gerard Lopez to be released from his contract as head of recruitment.

Writing for the Daily Record, Duncan Castles claims that Campos wants to end his time at the Ligue 1 outfit after a number of disagreements in relation to the club’s summer transfer activity.

Campos has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, which would have seen him reunited with Jose Mourinho.

The pair worked together whilst Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid and reports shortly after the Portuguese took over in North London suggested that he was optimistic of bringing his compatriot to the club (Guardian).

Campos’ track record speaks for itself having been credited for the emergence of Kylian Mbappe, Nicolas Pepe, James Rodriguez and Bernardo Silva (talkSPORT).

The 56-year-old has two years left to run on his contract at Lille and has not made an appearance at the club’s training ground since the European transfer window closed earlier this month.

Campos has previously described Mourinho as being like a brother to him and has also been linked with a switch to Manchester United in the past (Sky Sports).
