Transfer target admits he does not want to leave current club

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Dani Ceballos has claimed that he does not want to leave Real Madrid this summer.

Ceballos has been linked with moves to both Tottenham and North London rivals Arsenal during the current transfer window (The Sun).

The Spanish giants were also reported to have offered Tottenham £45million and Ceballos in order to land wantaway Christian Eriksen (The Sun).

Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu has seen the midfielder’s game time limited with AS reporting that the Frenchman has told Ceballos that he is not in his plans for the upcoming season.

The 22-year-old has impressed during Spain’s Under-21 Championship, including a stunning goal against Italy in their opening match of the tournament.

Ceballos has insisted that he is happy in Madrid, where he has four years to run on his existing deal but at the same time did not rule out the prospect of playing elsewhere if it means he can be an integral part of a squad.

‘I don’t want them [Real Madrid] to sell me,’ Ceballos told Onda Cero.

‘But I want to enjoy myself and feel important, wherever that may be.

‘I have a bit of experience and I believe that next year will be my best year.’

Opinion

A loan move for Ceballos would be smart business for Spurs, even if it means he forms part of a deal which takes Eriksen to La Liga.
