Two Spurs players have praised departing first-team player on social media

Two of the Tottenham Hotspur first team squad have taken to social media to praise Michel Vorm after the goalkeeper left the club this week.

Vorm’s contract in North London expired this month and has now left the club as a free agent.

The Dutch international joined from Swansea City in July 2014 and went on to make 47 appearances in all competitions for the club.

He was named among the substitutes for last weekend’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in Madrid but has struggled for first team footballing after falling behind Paulo Gazzaniga as Hugo Lloris’ understudy.

Gazzaniga has shown this season that he is more than capable to fill in for Lloris with a number of impressive displays between the sticks.

Here’s what some of the Spurs squad had to say about Vorm’s departure.

Opinion

One of the fondest memories I have of Vorm was at the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ against Chelsea when Vorm stood his ground against Diego Costa among a 22-man brawl and showed that despite his limited game time, he certainly had the club at heart.
